CF1 MEF cells are derived from CF1 mouse embryos and used to support the growth of undifferentiated mouse or human embryonic stem cells (ESC) and induced ploripotent stem cells (iPSC) as a feeder layer. Before use, MEF cells are usually treated by γ-irradiation or mitomycin-C to stop their further proliferation.
