Dr. Landel has had a career in rodent genome modification dating back to his postdoctoral training in 1986 at the Salk Institute. Previous positions include Director of Custom Animal Models at Transposagen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. in Lexington KY, Director of the Transgenic and Gene Targeting Facility at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Assistant Director of the Cryopreservation Program at the Jackson Laboratory, and Head of the Molecular Developmental Biology Laboratory at the A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. He is a founding member and officer of the International Society for Transgenic Technologies, serves on the Board of Delegates of AAALAC Intl., and is also an independent consultant in rodent genetics, genome modification and germplasm cryopreservation. He received his undergraduate degree (AB, Biology) from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
