Chondrocytes Neurons Differentiation Service Details
iPSC derived chondrocytes refer to chondrocytes (cartilage cells) that are derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). iPSCs are generated by reprogramming adult cells, such as skin cells, back to an embryonic-like state. Once iPSCs are obtained, they can be differentiated into various cell types, including chondrocytes.
Chondrocytes are important cells that make up the cartilage tissue in our body. Cartilage tissue is found in various parts of the body, including the joints, ears, nose, and rib cage. Chondrocytes produce and maintain the extracellular matrix (ECM) of the cartilage, which is composed of various proteins, glycosaminoglycans, and other molecules.
The use of iPSCs to generate chondrocytes has potential applications in regenerative medicine, where damaged or diseased cartilage can be replaced with healthy cartilage tissue. iPSC derived chondrocytes can also be used in disease modeling and drug discovery research.
