Applied StemCell, Inc.’s Autobioluminescent MCF7 cell line is a substrate-independent synthetic luciferase system that encodes all of the components required for bioluminescent signal initiation and maintenance. The MCF7 parental cell line naturally expresses estrogen receptor proteins and retains several characteristics specific to mammary epithelium, making them ideal for detection of estrogenic compounds and breast cancer research and drug discovery. The autobioluminescent MCF7 cell line can also be used to directly detect bioavailability of drugs over time without any need for potentially influential interactions.
