Bone Marrow
Bone marrow is found within some of the bones of the body, and it allows the production of red and white blood cells and platelets. Bone marrow has hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) that can produce all types of blood cells. HSCs divide and develop into lymphoid or myeloid progenitor cells. Lymphoid progenitor cells give rise to Natural Killer (NK) cells, T cells, B cells, and dendritic cells. Myeloid progenitor cells can develop into erythrocytes, platelets, mast cells, eosinophils, basophils, neutrophils, monocytes, dendritic cells, and more.
